Needs

Food

Food is the biggest need.  Supplies frequently run out and the children only have a cup of porridge for the day.

Medicine

Medicines are essential to combat sickness such as flu, infections and malaria.

Private schools are unobtainable for most children because of the cost.  It costs $80 per term per child which includes one meal at school each day.  Each school year has three terms.

Public schools are extremely understaffed and more of a government formality than a real education.  Creating affordable schools within the structure of the orphanages serves the children there as well as the underprivileged community around them.  Education is key to building a thriving productive community.

There are not enough triple bunks.  Some children have to sleep on the floor.

Farming

Providing agricultural tools and equipment will make it possible to grow crops to eat and sell.

Farm Animals

Providing farm animals such as chickens, goats and cows, gives a source of food and income to the orphanage.  Animals also teach responsibility, work ethic and other valuable lessons.
